The Old Weavers is a well-known, high quality restaurant located right in the Canterbury high street. The building dates back to the 15th century and historically, has had many roles however most notably it was used as a weavers' cottage at the end of the 19th century. The architecture of the building is classic Tudor style and is one of the most photographed buildings in the city. During the spring and summer months, lunch is served on the outdoor patio along the riverside where the punting river tours take place.
The old weavers Restaurant is now offering a special deal exclusive for tourist groups travelling to Canterbury during the summer months. For the price of £16.99 per person we are offering a special edition of the historic Canterbury punting river tour and a meal at our Restaurant.
The offer consists of a 40-minute river tour in one of the punting company owned boats, prior to or followed by a one-course-meal* of your choosing:
- Traditional English roast (beef, pork or lamb)
- Fish and chips
- Weavers pie (choose from various beef, chicken, lamb or veggie options)
* the meal does not include a drink
The river tour is conducted in traditional punting style and each tour is run by a trained professional punter. The tour gives visitors to Canterbury a true insight into the city's rich history and character.
The Old Weavers Restaurant is open from 9am till 10pm every day, all year round. The special offer would be available to all participants from 10am to 5pm every day of the week - in one sitting, we can accommodate up to 48 people and guarantee the meal would take no longer than one hour. The boat capacity is 12 persons per boat. However, larger groups can travel in up to 4 boats as part of the same tour.
